Writer, director Doug Ellin, who created the television show, wisely sticks to the same formula and elements that made the series such a success.
It really gives an insight as to what actors nowadays go through as far as roles taken and career moves - not to mention a reaction off of a bad review from a critic. It succeeded better than HBO envisioned.
Its refreshing to watch a show that nails it perfectly. Just about every single review I read said the movie was awful. Not that Entourage ever managed to be the biting satire it probably should have been, either as a TV show or a movie. It premiered when I was in my early twenties and I legitimately enjoyed it for a few seasons but then around the time Vince was making Medillin I lost interest and moved onto other things.
They so rarely work.
Same with Ferrara as Turtle. Along the way, there are plenty of party scenes with the beloved main characters doing what they do best.
However, instead of facing up to their narrative obligations, Ellin and Co. The film coasts along on the same mix of easy-going charm, Hollywood voyeurism and low-stakes drama that made the show enjoyable if somewhat tiresome over its eight-year run.
I hope this is not the true swan song for the gang from Queens, but if it is, then it is a fitting finale that will wash away the taste of the last few uneven seasons. Ellin's creation was always male fantasy unleashed, but at least the TV series remained until later seasons somewhat grounded in a feeling of "real Hollywood exploits" that could've been lived by a famous star i.
With five main characters, this is an unavoidable hazard. Grenier and Connolly continue owning their characters, yet oddly they seem to switch character archetypes more than once here. Such flaw is inevitably at large in this big screen take of the 8-season series.
Was this review helpful? These guys learn nothing, they don't change, they have no arc and they are never truly challenged. The women that are not overtly sexualized are the ones that are nags or getting in the way of the boys being boys. You will hate this character throughout the movie.
If anyone even broached the subject of waiting to the weekend to see it, I immediately ended our friendship. At worst, the movie would remind me of an old girlfriend who I wish the best despite us going our separate ways. The cameos and returning favourites offer plenty of laughs — even if the trailers ruin who shows up to the party.
In the end, the movie really does feel like a family reunion. The picture is fine though nothing outstanding with good detail levels while colors are generally bright and cheerful in keeping with the comedic tone of the film.

Ari's first project is a big budget movie starring Vinny, but Vinny has one big condition — he also wants to direct. Yet for anyone with a sense of irony or social justice, it's also frustratingly soft around the edges. I Highly recommend giving this one a chance, it might turn out to be the dark horse of the season.
